Managing Your Time In and Out of the Office

Juggling work, family and friends can make for stressful times.  The ability to manage one’s time is important both in the workplace as well as out of the office.  There are a few simple steps to follow to ensure a productive day, whether you are working to meet a deadline at work or battling daily routine.

Be realistic – If you feel overwhelmed with too many tasks, do not be afraid to ask for help or suggestions from others.

Take one thing at a time – The best way to cope when you are feeling stressed is to take one task at a time.  Pick the most urgent task and work on it first.  Once you’ve accomplished that task, choose the next one.  Allow yourself to “check off” completed tasks.  It is a satisfying feeling.

Healthy lifestyle – Balancing work and play is important.  Make sure to get enough sleep and eat well.  You will find that you have more energy and can be more productive!

Be nice to yourself – No one is perfect, so do not get frustrated if you make a mistake.  It happens to the best of us!

The ability to manage time in and out of the office is an important job.  Those who effectively manage time are more productive, less stressed and more in control.
