Please be aware that beginning August 11, 2018 WMATA will begin a 16 day Capital Improvement Project affecting Orange, Blue and Silver lines resulting in crowding and delays. The project will finish on August 26, 2018.
Orange and Silver line trains will operate only every 20 minutes at all times of the day and will be single tracking between McPherson Square and Smithsonian. Blue line trains will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Arlington Cemetery only. If you travel between Virginia and Downtown DC you should use the Yellow line instead.
On the weekends of August 11-12 and 25-26, Farragut West, McPherson Square and the lower level platform at Metro Center will be closed.
These changes will affect everyone’s work commute. Therefore, it is your responsibility to adjust your travel time accordingly and plan alternative routes. For more information about this improvement project please visit WMATA’s website: https://www.wmata.com/service/status/details/2018-Capital-Project-McPherson-Smithsonian-Advisory.cfm.
If you are running late to work due to these metro changes, please call the office and leave a message on the urgent call line at 202-659-2111, ext. 1 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
