After your interview, jot down a few notes; such as the people you met, the firm’s mission, the job content of your discussions and job duties. With the new information you’ve learned about the job, think of your past experiences and any skills that may help you succeed in this new job. Having this on hand will help prepare you for a second interview and for future interviews with other companies.
It is always wise to write thank you notes to the person(s) who took the time to meet you. Mention a few specifics you discussed in the interview. Be gracious; keep your thank you note concise and error-free. Send the note immediately after your interview. It is better to send a hand-written thank you note than a quick email. The little extra effort goes a long way in showing that you are serious about the job!
Keep in mind that the employer interviews many prospective candidates so follow up after your interview. Try to get the job offer!
